‘Weekly Update’

25th September 2026

Dear Families,

This week St Francis Class led a beautiful mass about the beautiful colours of God’s world. We were each reminded of our duty as stewards of God’s creation: both the plants and wildlife around us as well as God’s creation of our fellow man. The class harvested Rosemary sprigs from the school gardens to distribute to parents and I hope that some of these made it into your dinner dishes!

 

This week marks our Autumn Census. Data taken on Thursday will be used by the government to decide on the funding we will receive next year. Please help us by ordering your child a school meal. You can find the special menu on the next page. Children in Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 can order a meal at no cost to parents. If you’re worried they won’t like their choice, you can send in a packed lunch also!

You can also help by letting us know if your child:

• Hears or speaks another language at home.

• Was exposed to another language when they were younger.

• Is growing up with two or more languages, even if English is their strongest language.

• Family members or people in the community regularly speak another language with them.

A child can be fluent in English and still have EAL. If your child speaks English confidently but has also been exposed to another language, please let us know by using this online form: CLICK HERE
