PE Days

All year 5-6 classes have PE on Monday and Friday.

Home Learning

Reading:

Children are expected to read at least 3 times per week. This should be recorded in the child's reading diary each time. If a child reads 3 times or more, they will receive a merit on Friday morning when homework is handed in.

Spelling:

Children are expected to complete their weekly spellings, practising 5 times per week. These spellings are directly linked to spelling rules and Year 5&6 statutory words. If a child completes their spellings without errors, they will receive a merit when handing in spelling on a Friday, children will receive an extra merit if they practice handwriting on the reverse of their spelling sheet. New spelling lists are also sent home on a Friday.

Maths:

Maths homework is set weekly on a Friday using MyMaths. Children's logins can be found in their reading diaries. It is checked weekly on a Friday by their maths teacher.

Children in year 5/6 are expected to self manage their reading books. Children have access to the classroom library all week and are able to select new reading and reading for pleasure books.
